I am showing two series from two different personal projects I’ve been working on over the last few years. Downstairs you can see the first project which is called “The Natural Philosophers”. It’s about children being born philosophers and natural scientists.
Showing upstairs at the art center are some of my Vocabulary Series from my ongoing project documenting “Vocabulary Day” at Sippican School where the entire school dresses up as a word they learned that year. I’m in year two of a six year volunteer project to create a living dictionary for Sippican School
As Paula Mckeen, the third grade teacher who organizes this annual event says, “Can you think of a better way to celebrate our love of words than with Vocabulary Day?” This year we raised over $2,000. for new books and reading materials for the Etta Hicks Library at Sippican School with the project! Every year we hope to continue raising funds for literacy and new books!

Portraits, landscapes in focus at Marion Arts Center exhibition

MARION — An exhibition of photographs by Ronald Wisner and Corinna Raznikov will be on display at the Marion Arts Center from April 25 through May 31. A reception for the photographers will be held Friday, April 25 at the center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Both the Cecil Clark Davis Gallery and the Patsy Francis Gallery will be filled with photographs featuring Raznikov’s portraits and Wisner’s landscapes.
Raznikov’s photography has been featured in numerous galleries and museums in shows from Scotland to San Francisco, and is regularly published in national and regional magazines.
Along with her commercial work as a wedding photographer, she continues exhibiting her artwork and volunteering her photography services in many capacities. Her recent project “Vocabulary Day” is a six-year project where she is photographing 500-plus children dressed as definitions in Sippican School’s “Living Dictionary.” The project will raise awareness for literacy as well as funds for the school’s Etta Hicks-Allen Library.
She lives in Marion with her husband and daughter Josephine.
She received her B. A. in Art and English from the University of the Pacific, where she concentrated her studies on the portrait in photography. Raznikov furthered her training by studying the history of photography at the University of Glasgow, Scotland and the aesthetics of photography at Harvard University.
After completing her degree, she taught photography at the University of the Pacific, and continues to teach in her field.
Wisner is the former CEO and founder of the Wisner Company that manufactured and sold photographic devices worldwide for more than two decades through 2004. He has taught, lectured and published on the subject of photography and holds several photographic device patents. Wisner is primarily a landscape photographer and photographs internationally.
